ZIO has proven to me that in order to build the most elegant of APIs, one must (1) deeply understand the sacred categorical abstractions, and then (2) throw them right out, hardcoding the relevant capabilities directly into concrete datatypes. https://t.co/Wzh8I8Plcu

What has me excited about ZIO Flow:

— Persistent computations that survive restarts, splits
— Scalable cluster that grows with needs
— Resiliency in the face of transient failures
— Multi-system (weak) transactionality via sagas
— Idiomatic functional Scala & native ZIO

Exactly 0 new features are required for ZIO 1.0 to support Cats Effect 3.0, which is great news for ZIO users of FS2, http4s, Doobie! 🎉

CE 3.0 adds some ZIO features, but the only way to unlock the full power of ZIO 1.0 remains direct usage—outside the CE type class hierarchy.

I am really impressed how much #scala code at @kensuio we are able to generify, abstract and REUSE (inc. writing tests!). Impl. new stuff really fast, handling all the edge cases, support fault tolerance OUT OF THE BOX. IO communication, streaming and tests thanks to @zioscala

Wow, ZIO is the most loved library in the Scala ecosystem! ❤️🎉🕺

I'm honored and grateful to the scores of contributors who have made ZIO what it is today. 🙏

Today, I figured out how to construct ZLayers at compile time, replete w/ targeted error messages for missing dependencies. Extremely uncooked—but it works! https://t.co/kFykE2V0HH #ZIO
