ZEN BREAKS 35 - Intentions to live more in the present moment

“Remember you can always find peace and joy — just look inside yourself”. Zen Michael
112. Mindful Intentions for 2022
At the beginning of a new year, it is usual to define ambitious goals and objectives, true unbreakable and decisive resolutions!
As we know from experience, most of these resolutions that we make primarily out of obligation or tradition don’t usually last very long.
So this year, I prefer to adopt soft intentions rather than forced resolutions. Intentions have a greater degree of option and not the obligation, which can increase our attachment to them and facilitate the development of more lasting attitudes and practices.
Today I share 3 of my intentions for 2022, intentions with the purpose to live a calmer life, with more meaning and awareness.
Perhaps they can help or inspire you to reflect a little on what is most important to you, on what you want to develop and improve in this new year.
Or maybe you want to join these intentions and adopt some of these practices. You will be welcome.
1 - Qi Gong
About 2 months ago I started practicing Qi Gong weekly and I intend to continue and intensify this practice. I plan to devote at least a few minutes daily to this practice.
Qi Gong is a therapeutic gymnastics with origins in traditional Chinese medicine that helps us to calm the mind and harmoniously exercise the body.
With slow movements that improve blood circulation, combined with breathing training, it can be practiced by anyone at any age and, according to several studies, it can decisively contribute to a healthier, calmer, and more conscious life.
For those who don’t know Qi Gong, here are some videos with examples of some exercises to inspire you to try - it’s worth it!

2 - Meditation and Mindfulness
I intend to continue the meditation practice and make it more regular, daily if I can.
Learning to accept, understand and manage our thoughts, emotions, and sensations is a fundamental step towards being able to live a better life. Meditation can help us on this path of learning how to respond to every situation in the best way rather than rushing into autopilot.
I will have the privilege of participating in a group that each week devotes a few hours to deepening these themes (thanks for the opportunity David). With the help of this group, I intend to learn to pay more attention to what is important, to be more present at the moment, in the here and now.
Here are some videos that can help us explore and acquire this daily habit.

3 - Zen Breaks
I started Zen Breaks - this weekly newsletter to inspire moments of calm, joy, and peace in everyday life - about 8 months ago.
The main objective was to share what I was discovering and learning about the themes of meditation, mindfulness, and self-knowledge.
In addition to sharing, this newsletter has also become a way for me to practice, create, and maintain the habit of regularly dedicating time and attention to these important topics. A kind of journaling, in a shared format.
I hope that Zen Breaks can help you too and that it continues to have a positive and reflexive effect on your lives and mine.
I’m not sure what paths this newsletter will take in the future, but this uncertainty and the unknown are also part of this journey, which I hope will be enjoyable.
I invite you to share with me what you think about the newsletter if it helped you in 2021 in any way and to share it with your acquaintances and friends who might benefit from it.
Previous editions of the newsletter can be read online at https://www.getrevue.co/profile/zenbreaks
There you can also subscribe to the newsletter to receive directly in your email, first hand, each weekly edition of Zen Breaks.
May we know, in 2022, to accept and appreciate what each new day brings us.
May we learn to live better by paying more attention to each moment, here and now.
