The Dream
A new podcast goes deep into the world of multi-level marketing. It’s something that I’ve always wondered about. And I’m sure you’ve asked yourself the same questions. “Do these people make money? How many people make money? Is it really that easy?”
The Dream talks to dozens of people involved with or adjacent to the multi-level marketing industry to give you one of the most objective perspectives of how it all works.

The Mind of Jake Paul
I don’t understand YouTube culture. It’s not something I keep up with or have ever been invested in. With that being said, there’s something fascinating about Shane Dawson’s docuseries, “The Mind of Jake Paul.”
Known for being one of the most obnoxious people on the internet, Jake Paul has done some crazy stuff in videos. Shane Dawson, apparently known for doing other YouTube interview videos (???), spends weeks researching and interviewing people in and around Jake Paul’s life.

I will say that episode 1 was pretty captivating. Episodes 2-4 left me wanting to hear more from Jake Paul’s side of the story. Episode 5 is when the series really picks up because Shane visits Jake Paul’s YouTuber mansion where he lives with other internet famous people. I still have a two episodes to go.
I can’t tell if this is the new reality tv, or if it’s actually an interesting character investigation of a famous person. Either way, it’s fun and gives you a glimpse into the life of being YouTube famous.
THIS is Marketing
About a year ago I took a class called “The Marketing Seminar” by Seth Godin. There were 50 videos over the course of 100 days. It was a cohort-based experience that changed my perspective on marketing. It was a better lesson in marketing than any course I took in college. It was certainly cheaper, but definitely not cheap.
Based on this seminar, Seth wrote a book to make the knowledge more accessible. He talks about it in this YouTube interview and in this podcast with Tim Ferriss. Both are outstanding.

I am headed to Mexico to visit Daniel in the Peace Corps on Thursday! Last week was a heavy work week prepping for being out of the country for a little while and then home for Thanksgiving.
I just recorded a podcast with the Human Restoration Project. It’s a pretty niche show that reaches mostly educators and administrators interested in progressive education. They’ve interviewed some pretty famous thought leaders in education like Ted Dintersmith, Tony Wagner and more. It’s live on their website and should be syncing up with iTunes and in the next 24 hours!
Sophia and I also got two dogs. We rescued them for the Delaware Human Association. They are a bonded pair of Shih Tzus. Elvie is around 2 years old and Mavis is around 6 years old. They’re cute and love to be pet.
Here they are. Elvie is on the right and Mavis is on the left.

Probably won’t do a newsletter next weekend because I’ll be in Mexico! Talk soon,
