To be lonely, it seems, is to want. To want for a memory, a companion, a heartbeat (or two, if lucky) of unadorned insight. This week’s set of stories are introspective and estranged but combined stitch together some semblance of a bigger picture, something greater than the sum of its isolated parts. And we add to its power by revelling in the glorious loneliness of reading. Let us then become some small part of these stories and unite, for a moment, over words. -Lucas
