In case you were wondering, the fastest pigeons in the world do not wear FitBits, but it seems an inevitability. You can’t manage what you can’t measure; etcetera and so forth. One day each breathy flap of their wings will be flown deep into a database. How wonderful to live in a time when we’re just a couple silicon bands and mobile apps away from world-optimization! We’re wired and ready for a challenge, knighted by kilobyte-sized badges! Take a read through this week’s assortment of stories, a collection united by competition. For each link you click, shake your wrist a little–you deserve some extra steps. It’ll be our secret. -Lucas
