All we can control in life are our thoughts and actions. How do we bring our best selves to the day?
  • List the lies and reframe them. What do you tell yourself (consciously or subconsciously) about your body that isn’t true? How can you speak truth over those lies? “I’m ugly.” “Well, I don’t look like her…” “My nose is too big.” You are exactly who God made you to be. You are beautiful because you are you! Let’s be women who strive to be ourselves and not someone else. What would life be like if we embraced all of who we are… including our weird toes, random moles and stretch marks?! If we viewed our bodies as a gift and the means to journey through this life? We all have insecurities and lies around our bodies, I’ll go first and share my list and how I’m working to reframe my thoughts about my body #vulnerability 😆
On-going thought for September (and beyond!): Did I love and serve my body well today? Did I get the nutrients my body needs? Did I move my body today? Was I kind to myself?

What are you learning? How do we hold postures that hear?
Bikini competitor turned self-love advocate, Mary Jelkovsky, shares how 96% of women struggle with body image, how our bodies are not an image and how to stop negative thought patterns in her TEDx Talk (just over 10 minutes). Mary also has a podcast: “Mary’s Cup of Tea.” I listened to her episode “Tips for Bad Body-Image Days” last week and found it both helpful and insightful. Grateful for her heart and her work! ^that episode starts around the 4:30 minute mark and is just over 20 minutes.
