What lies beneath? Studio Miranda Issue #5

“Authenticity” is a loathsome, wildly overused word, but an endlessly fascinating theme. What’s behind that perfect Instagram? What really goes into that brilliant business? I want to know how people really feel, how they get things done, what happens outside the frame. I want to see those swan legs paddling madly beneath the serene surface. Don’t you?

The honest truth
Colette blogs about errors
Beautifully real
Pretty awful
Instagram tackles self-harm
Fun with graphic design
The return of the manual
An open-source, every-language typeface
And finally
Today is a big, big day. Today we – Julia Günther, Emily K Williams and myself – launch Lost in the Woods, the pattern collection we’ve been working on for the past year and a half. It’s a richly illustrated e-book with 12 patterns, equally split between garments and accessories, plus tutorials to support them. We hope you love it as much as we do.
My head is already flooding with ideas for my next projects, but right now, I’m celebrating this moment. Raise a glass with me…
Cheers!
Robynn
