A month ago, nobody could have predicted that we find ourselves just six points away from the Millers, with two games left to play.
It probably has more to do with Rotherham’s incredible implosion than our upturn in form, but we are on a decent unbeaten run and are a damn sight more difficult to beat under Alex Neil.
Win tonight, and there’s still a mathematical chance that we could go up automatically, if everyone else loses on Saturday, we win by thousands, there’s a blue moon and Mercury is in retrograde. Those are the permutations. Where there is a chance, there is hope.
Incredibly, we could find ourselves not even qualifying for the play-offs on Saturday - this is how much we need to win tonight.
