What'sUpNewp - Thank You & Feedback Wanted

Dear What'sUpNewp Member,
To say that it was a difficult decision to launch our What'sUpNewp Member program would be quite the understatement. We are all too aware that, after more than two decades of being trained to expect free access to pretty much everything you want online, the idea of ponying up for a membership for a small site like ours wouldn’t be palatable to many — even some people who use the site frequently.
The very first email and feedback we received about the membership program when we launched it was “Do a fundraiser. This will not work.”
That’s not what this is about.
Delivering worthwhile local news and reporting is truly a community-wide effort. It takes a dedicated staff and a loyal readership working together to make it happen.
We’ve been heartened at the early wave of memberships and the positive and constructive feedback we have received.
In just a few days since we pushed the membership program live, MANY  have set up accounts ahead of our May 1st full launch. Thank you to all of you for your support!
Your membership says you believe that supporting independent local independent online news means a better community for all of us. Plus, you get some cool stuff.
Feedback Wanted
Among the benefits of being a member, is the opportunity to receive our What'sUpNewp Morning Edition, our hand-crafted and curated email newsletter that gets you up-to-speed on all that’s happening, new, and to do across Newport County and across Rhode Island each morning.
As a member, you will be receiving the What'sUpNewp Morning Edition at 6 am daily.
Do you also want to receive What'sUpNewp Daily Digest, our free RSS curated newsletter this is sent to non-members each weekday at noon? That would mean you get 2 emails on weekdays from us and 1 email from us on Saturday and Sunday.
Email me at Ryan@whatsupnewp.com and let me know if you’d prefer the one email or both (and yes, I’m working on making it so you can just hit reply to this)
Results from this, more member program updates, and more information to come next week from me.
We believe Newport, Newport County, and Rhode Island deserves its own, truly local news source — a publication that celebrates the great things happening in our communities while also keeping tabs on our public institutions and tax dollars.
We are so thankful that you agree,  and that you believe in us.
Thank you!
