Good Morning,
This week that was at our local New York owned Gatehouse property…
  • Shares in The Providence Journal and Newport Daily News’ corporate parent fell more than 10 percent after the company reported it lost $6.1 million on revenue of $380.4 million for its third quarter.
  • Sale of the almost 5 acre Newport Daily News property, which is still owned by Edward A. Sherman Publishing Co., is now pending. When the real estate is sold, GateHouse will work with the new owner to possibly lease the space for NDN but their current lease ends at the end of 2018. The company has not yet decided where it will relocate to, if needed.
  • NDN publisher and managing editor have both announced they are leaving the company this month.

  • Troy Ramey returns to Newport later today to play at Newport Blues Cafe.
  • Check out your sample ballot and find your polling place ahead of Tuesday at www.vote.sos.ri.gov. Reminder - The Board of Elections must receive your mail ballot by 8 pm on Election Day.
