This week is Sexual Health Awareness Week (14-19), and there are many great ways to make sure you stay on top of your sexual health.

September is also Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Please take a moment to ask a friend how they are doing or call 470-578-6600 at any time, 24/7, to speak with a counselor.

Wellness Workshop: Condom Sense Monday, Sept. 13 at 12 pm

This workshop provides students with information, skills, and resources to avoid unintentional pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases through contraceptive education, prevention, and testing. You will also have a chance to learn how to be more comfortable with sexual partners and communicate effectively. Sexual Health supplies will be provided. Call to register at 470-578-6394.

HIV and Hepatitis C Testing: Wednesday, Sept. 15, 5-7 pm

FREE and Confidential Rapid Testing at the Austin Residence Complex, Townhall, from 5-7 pm. Sexual health supplies will be provided.

Did you know that students have access to FREE sexual health supplies? When notified, students can pick up their order in the following locations:

Student Recreation and Activities Center, Suite 1200, located on the Kennesaw Campus
Joe Mack Wilson Student Center, Suite 260 on the Marietta Campus
On-campus residents can now pick up their orders at the Talon Express Lockers on either campus

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month 2021 | The JED Foundation

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young adults and for every youth suicide, it is estimated that 100 to 200 others attempt suicide. Young adulthood is a time when many people experience significant stress from life transitions such as gaining more independence and responsibility when moving from home and beginning college or a career. OwlFit is taking our group fitness classes outside with OwlFit Outdoors! Join in for a great workout out on the Campus Green!

All classes will be 45 minutes long.

Coffee Shop Bike Ride from Campus

Join Outdoor Adventures for fun bike rides from the Kennesaw Campus on the Noonday Creek Trail! We will visit a nearby coffee shop on each ride. Options for a 1 hour, 6-8 mile ride, and 3 hour 18-22 mile ride.

No bike? No problem! We will meet at Outdoor Adventures where bikes and helmets will be provided for those who reserve one upon registration. Outdoor Adventures is located inside the Student Recreation and Activities Center on the Kennesaw Campus.

Managing Anxiety and Depression Virtual Workshop

The Managing Anxiety and Depression virtual workshop will be an educational experience with the opportunity to interact with a counselor and students who are going through similar struggles. Not a therapy group but designed to begin providing you with knowledge in the healing process, awareness about your mood, and to begin practicing these skills on your own.

We aim to help you understand:

Causes and experiences of anxiety and depression
Connection between stress and anxiety/depression
New approaches to managing anxiety and depression
How the mind and body respond to mental distress
