Handpicked links about virtual reality, curated by Peter Rojas.

HTC started taking pre-orders for its Vive headset on Monday, anyone else take the plunge? Though the Oculus Rift (which I also pre-ordered) will almost certainly have a better selection of games and apps at launch, there’s something about the Vive’s room-scale tracking which makes it the more compelling of the two headsets for me. Sure, you need to have a room with plenty of open space to make it work, but being able to physically walk around inside these virtual spaces makes them feel that much more realistic and immersive. Eventually the Rift will catch up, but if you want to experience where VR is going you have to give the Vive a try.
As always, if you’re working on something in VR, please get in touch, I’d love to hear about it.
