Hello once again to all you Vertical Farming fanatics! Welcome to this weeks edition of Vertical Farming Weekly. Just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Fun Fact: Saint Valentine was not only the saint of lovers, but the saint of beekeepers. So, you would want him on your side when you’re growing luxury strawberries grown in vertical farms using bees and artificial intelligence.
Anyways, this week on the podcast we have Christine Zimmermann-Loessl, Chairwoman of the Association for Vertical Farming.
Until next week,
-Noah

Christine Zimmermann-Loessl - Chairwoman of the Association for Vertical Farming. Listen to the episode here or wherever you get your podcasts.
Join Harry Duran, host of Vertical Farming Podcast, as he welcomes to the show Christine Zimmermann-Loessl, Chairwoman at Association for Vertical Farming. Association for Vertical Farming (AVF for short) is an internationally active nonprofit organization of individuals, companies, research institutions and universities focusing on leading and advancing the sustainable growth and development of the vertical farming movement.
Today, Harry and Christine talk about how Christine’s entrepreneurial spirit and natural curiosity led her from studying philosophy and political science to heading one of the largest vertical farming advocate organizations. Christine speaks to the need for all companies in the vertical farming industry to work together to combat issues like overpopulation, climate change and other existential planetary crises facing our world. Finally, Christine and Harry talk about the critical role technology continues to play in our world and our future as well as the importance of remembering that we are all part of nature. It is at this intersection of technology and nature that vertical farming can play a saving role.

Elsewhere in CEA...
Here at Team VFP we’re of the opinion that a rising tide lifts all boats. As such, we’re excited to share other content from the wonderful world of CEA. That includes episode updates from past guest Kyle Barnett, who hosts his own show, CropTalk. Check out his latest episode:
Ep. 83 - Name Changes & Branding Expertise at Soli Organic (formally Shenandoah Growers) w./ Don Helms
A few months ago Shenandoah Growers changed their name to Soli Organic. Why did this change happen? What is the leading provider of organic herbs doing to perfect their branding? What does it take to build a strong produce brand in CEA? On this episode of CropTalk #KyleTalksAgtech Don Helms, Vice President of Marketing at Soli Organic Inc. does a masterful job of answering these questions, explaining what it takes to build a strong brand and the story of how and why this recent name change occurred.
Thank you for reading and have a great weekend!
