# 13. The Daughter
written over a period of 3 months in an empty house, a small house and on a campsite.

Welcome back
Thanks for joining me again. It took me a little longer than planned to get back to you - January was never my strongest month - but here we are again, hoping to bring you some divertissement. First of all a song with a video featuring numerous body parts.
The song is about daughters. Biblical daughters, nameless daughters, guilty daughters and innocent ones. It’s also about what history did to them, what painters did to them, what they did themselves and who is to blame in the end. I really enjoyed making the video, I hope you enjoy watching it too.
Live in Brussels
Second, we’re very happy to play in Brussels at the wonderful Ancienne Belqique’s Room 23 on April 16th. It’s free, just reserve a seat via email.
Love, Christine
THE DAUGHTER was recorded with Sjaak Thissen on double bass and electric guitar, Marjolein van der Klauw on backing vocals and David Kops on wurlitzer and in charge of recording and production.
Lyrics can be found here.
