The best content I've ever found, sent in consumable Weekly gifts. Mouthwatering concepts, tempting questions, juicy books, delicious songs, exquisite short films, and other surprises.

I’m starting a new personal project where I’ll essentially be living as a modern “Renaissance Human”. I’m going to be developing myself in 15 areas at the same time, as a way of life. More info of why, how, and what in this post.

Mouthwatering Concepts
Being a generalist is better than being a specialist.
This is my perspective and I’m sure there’s a several ways of looking at things that makes it so being a specialist “is better” but I usually try to optimize for generalist over specialist. A bit more thoughts on this in my Renaissance Human project I linked above.

Don’t look for goals, look for a way of life.
Hunter Thompson’s letter (1958) to his friend asking for “life advice” is one of the best life advices I’ve come across. Also relates a lot with my “Renaissance Human” way of life. Reading time 6mins.

Tempting Question
What is something you want to learn but haven’t found the time to learn?

Juicy Books
Link. Reading biographies is inspiring. I really like what Leonardo Da Vinci was able to do, definitely an inspiration for Renaissance Human.
His curiosity was incredible, allowing him to see beauty across both art and engineering. Thoughts and questions in his notebooks ranged from ‘Why is the sky blue’ to descriptions of the tongue of a woodpecker.
Exquisite Short Film
Nobody Tells This To Beginners - YouTube
(1 minute 45 seconds)
I love this little video about closing the gap between your taste and your abilities. It’s very encouraging when learning a skill from scratch. I’m going to find it useful for my Renaissance Human project.

Delicious Music
Several fresh off the oven music — bunch of releases this week.

Khalid released another song two days ago (this Friday), his stuff is always great so had to include it: Better, which tastes like Kale.

David Guetta, which usually tastes like Gluten, returned to his underground House roots announcing “Jack Back” as his new alias last week and two days ago he dropped his new album “7”, with Back and Forth, which tastes like Bento Box (big bass deep house) as well as Para que te quedes and Say My Name, both with J Balvin and thus taste like Aguacate.

Ni Gucci Ni Prada is another great new Aguacate-tasting song by “Kenny Man” — who I had never heard of before.

And just in case you need to do work this week, try drinking some Blue Coffee.

As always, let me know your thoughts. Just hit reply.

If you thought the Renaissance Human lifestyle idea was interesting, I’ll be sharing tips, takeaways, stories, art, and the connections between the 15 areas in my new  Renaissance Human Instagram (@ren.human). And thoughts in general in my Medium blog.
