The best content I've ever found. Mouthwatering concepts, tempting questions, juicy books, delicious songs, exquisite short films, and other surprises.

Hey friends, it’s been a few months since I sent one of these.
Been working on something for the past 6 months that I think you’ll like.
Launched it this past week and reception has been amazing:
It’s called Monthly. We make experiential one-month online classes taught by big YouTubers and creators.
We’re beyond excited by the initial set of instructors we were able to partner with:
  • Andrew Huang, likely the most well-known YouTuber in music production, with close to 2 million subscribers and 200 million video views.
  • Daria Callie, who has built the largest audience on YouTube for realistic portrait painting.
  • Stevie Mackey, probably the #1 celebrity vocal coach — he’s worked with Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Kanye, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Coldplay, Fergie, to name a few.
  • Blanks, whose viral videos of him remaking popular songs in under an hour have earned him over a million subscribers.
  • Matt Komo, filmmaker and former Head of Social Content at GoPro, who is considered a pioneer of Internet video storytelling.
This past week we launched our first class. It’s by Ten Hundred, an artist with imaginative murals and art all around the world who’s built a devoted following on YouTube and Instagram, inspiring hundreds of thousands of artists.
In this class, you learn how to translate your influences, background, and imagination into a visual style and ultimately into a painting by the end of the month. The picture below is what he demonstrates as an example from start to finish in the class:

Provoking Picture
I love Ten Hundred's vibe and visual representation of ideas
I’m obviously taking this class (link here), so if you want to take it with me, reply to this email and I’ll send you my friend link so we can take the class together and you get $20 off the class.
That’s one big component we built into Monthly classes: community. You can take classes with friends. And if you have 0 friends, no worries, everyone joins a “peer group” of 20 other students (friends or new-friends) from all around the world. Peer groups are limited in size so you can actually get to know the people who are taking the class with you. Peer groups are designed for encouragement, giving and receiving feedback, and exposure to new perspectives.
And the creators will also be popping into the peer groups giving personalized video feedback to select students!
We think fans of the creators are going to love this feature, so we made it super easy for the creators to leave video comments on their feed of student projects.
And talking about the example…
Andrew Huang's Music Production Class is Live
Right before I sent this newsletter, I pushed code to make Andrew Huang’s class live and open for enrollment:
I highly recommend watching the trailer video on his class landing page (also Ten Hundred’s).
All the other classes are almost done and will be launching in the next couple of weeks/months.

On with the present newsletter, which is clearly a special Monthly edition.
Tempting Question
What have you been wanting to learn or create but keep putting off?
This is one of the main pain points we’re trying to solve with Monthly. We’re creating a structure so people can finally create time for what they’ve been wanting to do.
The curriculums for the classes are designed so that if you commit to the class, you’ll have created something worth sharing by the end of the month, and a set of lifelong skills. These are fun, engaging, and effective classes.

Exquisite Short Film
Mind-blowing editing and cinematography in this video by Matt Komo. So excited to take his Filmmaking Monthly class soon!
Around the World in 30 Days - Matt Komo
Finger-licking Quote
“Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple.”― Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
One belief we’re integrating into Monthly is that it’s all about the journey.
Monthly’s platform emphasizes the journey by helping students create a “path” that tells a story of their month-long learning process, which they can share as a link with friends and family, or keep for themselves.
Melt-in-your-mouth Podcast
Not related to Monthly but this was a great podcast I listened to this weekend:
Breaker: Venture Stories - Building a Second Brain, Productivity, and Trauma with Tiago Forte
Delicious Music
Blanks makes it look super easy to re-make popular songs under an hour, or re-create an song but in an entirely new style. These are some of my favorite of his style-transfer songs (reminds me a lot of Machine Learning style transfer, but with music):
If WITHOUT ME by HALSEY was a REGGAE HIT! | STYLESWAP
If BETTER NOW by POST MALONE was an 80s HIT! | STYLESWAP
So, what will you learn and create next month?
As always, let me know if you have any thoughts/ideas/feedback, this time especially about Monthly! Hope to see you in one of the classes.
✌️,
Valentin
