I was lucky enough to be in a photoshoot for Tern Bikes
with my daughter this week. (Thanks for the chance, Chris of goodtimesroll.cc
& Ad Lips
) The photographer, Sebas Romero
of Black and Rad Barcelona
, was cracking me up for two days. The crew was great and we had some thought provoking convos between takes. After the shoot, I noticed Sebas featured this quote on his insta:
“Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.”
I looked for the quote’s roots a bit. No luck. But did find some clues:
The basic concept has been said in many ways. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
- attributed to Dr. Suess, but was an extension of a quotation from Industrialist Bernard Baruch
at a dinner party about seating arrangements. Spend less time worrying about what others think.
Knowing when to not lose sleep over the opinion of others is key but specific feedback is even more important. But where is the balance?
As always, thank you all for reading!
