📣 If it Rhymes, it’s Worth Your Time | Issue Nº200 📢
By Jon Woodroof • Issue #200 • View online
Hello! How was your week? I’ve settled into a bi-weekly summer cadence with these. It took some pressure off and I’m keeping the rhythm. I also knew the 200th issue would feel like a big deal.
And, of course, it really does feel like a milestone but also a turning point: like what will what the newsletter continue to grow to mean and what will it be used for in the future? I’ll be thinking on how to make the next 100 better than ever over the next 2 weeks but in the meantime, I’ll not wax on with a long intro for this issue but instead share 11 fun facts about the number 200:

  1. The number appears in the Padovan sequence, preceded by 86, 114, 151 (it is the sum of the first two of these).[1]
  2. The sum of Euler’s totient function φ(x) over the first twenty-five integers is 200.
  3. 200 is the smallest base 10 unprimeable number – it can not be turned into a prime number by changing just one of its digits to any other digit.
  4. It is also a Harshad number.
  5. 200 is common ISO-standard film speed for photographic films. However, 200 speed film is being phased out in consumer films in favor of faster films. 😬
  6. 200 is denomination of the euro note.
  7. 200 MeV is the temperature of quark–gluon plasma phase transition.
  8. An HTTP status code indicating a successful connection; the code is “200 OK”.
  9. The sum of pounds (or dollars) given in the classical Monopoly game to a player passing Go is 200
  10. cholesterol level of 200 and below is considered “desirable level corresponding to lower risk for heart disease”.
  11. its also a year.
As always, thank you for reading and I wish you a radical weekend ahead,
Jon
