A Rough First Day Back At The Office
Amid last week’s admission from Facebook’s head of security that the platform sold 3,000 advertisements to Russian sources that directly targeted American voters during the 2016 election, Mark Zuckerberg finally directly addressed the issue at hand. In a lengthy post to his Facebook page, Zuckerberg summarized his live video in which he lists the steps both he and the Facebook team are taking to cooperate fully with the investigations into the spread of fake news and interference during the election.

Facebook Pulls Instagram A Little Closer
Well well well…look at this. It appears that Facebook is pulling Instagram further into it’s fold. Facebook announced that it will be adding a feature that would lead from their app directly to Instagram’s. Is this Facebook admitting that Instagram is integral to their success, and not just an add-on (though it is also prey to the same algorithm mishaps as Facebook)?

Quartz, one of our favourite news sources, has added Augmented Reality to its app. Much like the IKEA Place app, it allows you to place objects in the space around you, as they are created in relation to Quartz’s news stories. We loved today’s addition of the TR-808 Synthesizer!

Bon Apetit, a magazine particularly targeting food enthusiasts, made a woeful typo yesterday that turned into major Millennial backlash. After mistyping “$96 billion” in their Tweet that broke down average grocery spending, which of course makes absolutely no sense, the responses on Twitter started pouring in.
