TEUTUL SR: “I looked at it and I thought it was funny, but how many have you done?”
VICE: “Me? Oh, I am not making these memes. The internet is making them. Like, it’s everyone.”
TEUTUL SR: “What? Oh, I’ve only seen a couple.”
- Adorable confusion from American Chopper’s Paul Teutul Sr. when being interviewed by VICE about his memedom.
YouTube: Former Employee's Website Explains Algorithm
An ex-engineer has put together a website which shows exactly which videos YouTube’s algorithm recommends when the search function is used. There’s still a lot to learn about YouTube’s algorithms and not all of it’s good. For example, this Tubefilter report shows the worrying trend of “anti-vax” (Content Warning: moron alert) videos that show up when searching for things like “vaccines facts”.
We're still not 100% how YouTube's algorithms work.

Instagram: Reclaim Your Data
Instagram will allow you to download a copy of all of the content that you’ve uploaded. This comes in response to new European privacy laws (although Facebook has had this feature since 2010). We can’t help but find the timing of this a little bit convenient, though.
We imagine that this is how it'll look for most of you.

Snapchat: Loses Traffic And Publisher's Faith?
We’re back at it again with the Snapchat update hate! Select All claims to have a source which states that “Traffic has plummeted since the update“ - but that’s not all, folks! They also claim that we should expect to see publishers lose faith too. Because the redesign keeps content from friends and content from publishers in different sections of the app, publishers are apparently worried that nobody will see their content. Add this to the news of an impending BlackBerry lawsuit, and things still aren’t looking good.

Twitter: Lays Down Its Weapons
Twitter has holstered its weapons and replaced its gun emoji with a water gun. Twitter claims that this will bring the emoji in line with other platforms, like Apple. However, most platforms are still using the standard gun emoji, so we’re assuming that there are some ethical and political undertones to this also. In any case, we’re all for it. We also hope it’ll aim to stick it to those gun-tootin’ 2nd Amendment Twitter trolls, too.
