Rose McGowan Banned For Speaking About Weinstein
We’re guessing what it takes to be banned from Twitter has nothing to do with hate speech or being abusive or death threats, but rather speaking up for yourself as a woman, person of colour, or otherwise socially disadvantaged member of society. After Twitter suspended Rose McGowan, we weren’t the only ones who felt Twitter’s policies were lacking. Between Twitter and YouTube, the patriarchy should be just fine.
These social networks need to do better to serve their purpose as an outlet of free speech.

Williams Reinvents The Word
Medium founder, Ev Williams, is doubling down (again) on reinventing online journalism and improving the quality of content in the world. It’s a lofty goal, but we’ve got to hand it to him: between Blogger, Twitter and now Medium, he’s remained dedicated. However, not everyone is convinced that this is do-able or even a worthy cause to take up. What do you think? Tell us on Twitter.
Could you juggle any more Ev? Maybe it's best to just sit down and chill for a while.

YouTube Blocks Bump Stocks
In the wake of lawmakers in the United States coming together to assess policies surrounding bump stocks (the $100 firearms attachment that turns many arms into automatic weapons), YouTube announced that they will be prohibiting videos that relate to the item. Rick & Morty Fuel McDonalds Backlash
When McDonald’s brought back Szechuan Sauce during a one-day promotion, Rick & Morty fans lost their minds. When the company also ran out of the sauce during that day, fans went even crazier
Fans basically went into a crazed rage for the sauce (much like Rick here).

Snapchat Challenges Yelp
Snapchat introduced Context Cards yesterday, a new feature that takes your average location filter to a whole new level with ratings from Trip Advisor, and Uber directions. It seems that not only is Snapchat leveraging a feature originally used in tagging on Instagram Stories, but actually improving it. It is said that the feature could even beat Yelp for spontaneous discovery.

Google Locates Home For Indigenous Communities
Google Maps has added over 3,000 Indigenous lands to Google Maps and Earth, including its history, tradition, land and resources in the listings. By working with Indigenous communities to ensure that they are accurately represented, Google has fathered the information from Resources Canada and workshops on digital mapping.
What an amazing new addition (and great use of digital mapping technology).

P.S. Ever pocket dialed someone when you really shouldn’t have? Mark Ruffalo knows that feeling.
