Twitter: Judge Blocks Trump From... Uh, Blocking
Since Donald Trump seems to be so trigger happy on Twitter, a federal judge has ruled that he can’t block Twitter followers. Since he has made official White House statements from the platform, it must be deemed as a “designated public forum”, therefore blocking users becomes unconstitutional. HA! You’ve got to love that freedom of speech you claim to fight for, eh, Donald?

More Twitter: Twitter To Add Political Badge
We tweeted about the Digital Advertising Alliance introducing a political icon to help identify political content. Well, now it looks like Twitter is also introducing a badge for political profiles/tweets of political candidates. Another step forward in the battle against fake news.

Facebook: Social Security At Stake?
Also attempting to increase transparency in political ads on its platform, Facebook is requiring social security numbers before the purchase of said ads. 2 things: Firstly, people have forged social security numbers for purposes like this before. Second, considering Facebook’s laid-back attitude to data (which lead to the Cambridge Analytica scandal) would we really want to give more information to them? Especially our social security number?
