Steve Jobs: The Opera Star
Steve Jobs has become a figure almost of myth in popular culture at this point. Next to pop up: the Steve Jobs musical. Santa Fe Opera has premiered their biographical musical ®evolution of Steve Jobs, featuring orchestral beeps bops and wizzes from actual vintage Apple gear. Composer Mason Bates felt it was the time for Jobs’ life to be put to his electronic scores, and perhaps solidify the Apple wiz’s life as one of legend. The Guardian

McDonalds Defeating In Fast Food Faceoffs
McDonalds posted second quarter earnings results Tuesday morning that beat Wall Street expectations (a 36% jump compared to earnings reported during the same time in 2016) attributing the successful quarter to, in part, two of its recent promotions: the $1 soft drink and $2 small McCafe deal, and the “signature crafted sandwich” initiative. I Can Haz Influencer Deal?
Pet influencers hold a unique spot in the social media spotlight. As Tara’s discussed before, with the popularity of pet photos online, and social media influencers working with brands, pet influencers were an inevitable next step. We wonder, where will we find the influencers of the future? We hope it’s pizza. New York Times.

New Toronto Nameplate Washes Ashore
A Toronto designer and artist team has worked in secret for seven days to put together a more discreet nameplate made of Driftwood at Humber Bay Park. The artists said they’re hoping their latest creation will last one week, so take your snap soon (and maybe make a suggestion that we should keep it)! CTV News.

Snopes Held Hostage By Vendor
Oh no! Snopes has been a lifesaver for so many people in the past year or so of rampant fake news. While being held hostage by a vendor, the site’s founder has been preparing a war chest through crowdfunding Go Fund Me to prepare for a legal battle. Though they have been around for more than 20 years, during the 2016 American election Snopes has become the go-to source for verifying ‘fake’ news. It seems Snopes founder and his ex-wife are letting their relationship get in the way of Snopes’ continuation as the foremost fact-checking site on the web. Mashable.
How will we investigate the 'fake news' without Snopes!
