Musk Flies Us To The Moon
Elon Musk revealed the official Space X spacesuit today on his Instagram account, where it spread like wildfire across the Internet. Perhaps it’s because it looks oddly familiar (Star Trek, anyone?), or because it is a real and functioning symbol of the seriousness of Musk’s space exploration. The suit has been tested in vacuum conditions, and designed in part by some of Hollywood’s best costume designers.

Long Videos Proved Most Engaging
According to a Buzzsumo study, food, fashion and pets still rule the internet, but the most interesting thing for us was - in the face of the whole “6 second video” push by FB: “The sweet spot for video length is 60 to 90 seconds…note that very short videos of below 30 seconds generated the lowest engagement on average overall.” When you look at the data, long 6+ MINUTE videos have more engagement than the shorter ones (we told you so 😉).

Medium Cashes In On Writers
Medium announced on their 3 Minute Read blog today that they have been working on improving the ability for content creators on the platform to monetize. Their Partners Program now allows select Medium creators to publish posts exclusively for paying subscribers, and they will in turn be payed based on the level of engagement. The program is entirely based on the intention of writers to be “compensated based on its value to others”.  Medium.

Sobeys Updates Policies
Gender inclusivity may be hitting the road in Canada, thanks to a new father that reached his limit while parking at Sobeys. The new dad spoke out about his parking #dadissues - having to constantly park in front of a sign that says “Expecting Mothers; Mothers with Small Children”. The father was calling it out for what it was: overlooking and excluding diverse families. Dads are coming together on Twitter to thank Sobeys for their reply, which agreed to replace the sign to represent more accurately their customers.

Stop The Presses!
YouTube has grown to become the world’s second-largest search engine, but until now the program sorted videos by popularity or relevance rather than subject matter. The video platform has revealed a “Breaking News” section on its site, which will show region-specific videos related to breaking news stories. Tubefilter.
