Your Social Souls Have Been Sold To The Devil
The CANADIAN (we’re so sorry) whistleblower has revealed that 50 million Facebook profiles have been ‘harvested’ in a massive data breach. What’s worse than a privacy breach? Finding out that the firm behind it all (Cambridge Analytica) worked on the Trump campaign and the Brexit campaign. Our social souls have literally been sold to the devil. It’s no wonder that Edward Snowden recently called Facebook a “surveillance company rebranded as social media”. Now, lawmakers in Washington are looking for answers.

From The Death Of Our Privacy, To The Death of An Icon
Bento, the second cat to take on the moniker of Keyboard Cat (from Fatso) has sadly passed away, leaving a huge void in the internet. The great things about animal memes are that even when a subject isn’t a human, we can relate to them through humour - that’s exactly what Bento did. Play us off one final time, kitty. We’ll see you in internet heaven.

Memewatch: Savage Thanos?
As the final trailer for “Avengers: Infinity War” dropped, fans began to agree on something: Thanos is terrifying. Some, however, drew comparisons to the recent “Savage Patrick” Spongebob meme. For us, the facial expression is pretty much where the comparison ends. We know who’d win that fight…
Hint: It's not Patrick.

Speaking Of Spongebob Memes...
We’ve got a fresh one for you. If there’s one certainty to the internet, it’s that Spongebob is the never ending goldmine of hilarious, exploitable content (warning: BuzzFeed). This one takes a similar 2-panel comparison format (much like the GOP Obamacare replacement memes from last year). It portrays the apparently one-sided rivalries between things such as Spotify vs Apple music in the same vein as rival food chains, The Krusty Krab and Chum Bucket.
We can't all be winners. Sorry, Plankton.

UK Snapchat's Ad Revenue Set To Overtake Twitter
In a trend that could travel across the pond, Snapchat UK’s ad revenue is set to overtake Twitter’s in 2019. Snapchat pulled in £21.9m ($30.7m) last year and is predicted to rake in around £181.7m ($254.8m) next year. That’s quite the leap! On top of this, Snapchat is predicted to control 2% of the UK’s digital ad market in 2020. However, it’s still well behind Facebook/Instagram’s predicted 2020 ad share of 8.1%.
We love watching the social media giants fight. We think it'll look like an even less athletic version of this ☝️
