Twitter Has A New Look!
You may have noticed this morning that Twitter is looking a little bit different today. Twitter has in fact once again refreshed its look though this time the refresh is more focused on the look and feel of the site both on desktop and on iOS. Android users may recognize this update as they received it last summer and it’s due to their positive feedback that Twitter has now rolled it out across all platforms. This update unfortunately did not address any of the more serious issues people would’ve liked them to but hey your profile picture is now circular! TechCrunch

Instagram Is Cracking Down On #SponCon With A New Label
A recent report put together by Mediakix showed that 93 percent of paid-for posts made by Instagram’s most popular users were not labeled according to FTC guidelines. In response to this report Instagram is rolling out a new labeling feature to better differentiate paid-for posts from regular content. The label — which features the words “Paid partnership with…” — will appear above sponsored posts and stories created by celebrities and other users promoting brands or products. While some users still may choose to avoid using these new labels there will be additional metrics available to those that do use them. The Verge

Skittles Makes A Faux Pas During Pride Month
If you go purchase a pack of Skittles during pride month you may be surprised to find that Skittles are currently all white. This marks the second year now that Skittles has removed the rainbow from its packaging & candy during Pride Month. “Only one rainbow matters this pride. Give the rainbow, taste the rainbow,” explains the back of the white Skittles bag. There has certainly been some backlash online but mostly people seem just pretty cheesed that they can’t pick out their least favourite flavours any more. Bored Panda

Why Skipping Cannes In Favour Of VidCon Is The Right Decision For Marketers
The advertising industry prides itself on its ability to tap into popular culture. Because of this, it’s safe to say that the industry is at its best when they are looking outward for inspiration, not inward. This is why Joshua Lowcock is arguing that you should be checking out the forward thinking VidCon in favour of the more traditional Cannes Festival this year. VidCon is currently the world’s largest online video conference and it will be attended by 26,000 fans and the YouTube creators they adore. You can check out more of Joshua’s reasons here on AdWeek.
