As Google’s annual I/O conference kicks off, TechCrunch wrapped up the 8 biggest announcements from day 1. The majority of the big announcements were regarding expanding the Google Assistant platform and rebranding its R&D division to Google AI. There are some pretty big changes here, so check ‘em out!

Memewatch: A Musk Have Chrome Extension
Elon Musk is dating Canadian musician, Grimes. By now you should know how we feel about inane celebrity relationship news invading our social-sphere. Well, some of the memes were pretty good. We weren’t even going to talk about this until this brilliant Chrome extension caught our eye. The extension is designed to make fun of all of the times that successful women were referred to as “X’s girlfriend”, and we love it.

Facebook: Mark Shuffle-berg?
Facebook is to undergo the biggest executive reshuffle in history, in response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The exec group is being organized into 3 main groups: New Platforms & Infrastructure, Central Product Services, and Family of Apps.
Hopefully this reshuffle is more than just a cheap PR card trick.
