A Klear View Of Instagram
Klear has just released its “State of Influencer Marketing” report (Warning: Graph-ic content.) The social media analytics company revealed that there were over 1,504,383 Instagram posts using #ad in 2017 and that the number of influencer posts had doubled from last year. Is influencer sponsorship getting out of hand? Maybe that’s why Facebook is shying away from publishers and more towards family and friends.
It's off the CHARTS! (Yep, we went there.)

And It Knows When You Were Last Online
Speaking of Instagram, guess who just joined the “we can see when you were last online” party? Yep. As it continues to flesh out its messenger feature to compete with other social platforms, the “Show Activity Status” function allows users to see when other users are online. Relax, though. This function can be turned off, but if you do turn it off, you won’t be able to use it either. You can’t have it both ways, you know!
Nowhere to hide, Instagrammers.

You Can't Handle The Taste!
In today’s “I don’t believe you” news: a recent article claims that candy such as gummy bears or Skittles are actually all the same flavour.  Apparently, our brains interpret taste based on their colours. In a predictable (and relatable) fashion, Twitter lost its mind. Sometimes, the truth just isn’t good enough :(
There are some things we wish that we never learned.

The Spotlight Is On For Spotify
Spotify is about to launch a multimedia format podcast that combines visual elements with traditional podcasting. Online publishers such as Buzzfeed and Crooked Media are already in line to launch content on this new platform. Although it’s only available in the U.S at the moment, it’ll roll out to a wider audience soon.  We’re actually quite liking the sound of this.
We're curious to see how creators will use the format to steal the spotlight.

Fresh From Nintendo's Labo-tory Is... uh, Labo
Ever the innovator, Nintendo has supplemented its Switch console with a cardboard VR arsenal. We know, we know - it sounds like this has been done before. But not like this. Now you can literally transform the device into a bicycle, fishing rod, robot and even a functioning piano. Once you’ve picked your jaw off from the floor, you should check out the crazy trailer for it below.
