Longer Is Better When It Comes To Online Videos
Here at Truly Social, we’ve been trying to tell you for a while now that longer videos actually drive deeper engagement. Just take a look at the most successful YouTubers, whose videos usually average 12 minutes! Our President, Tara, has talked about this before in her video “How Long Should YouTube Videos Be?” Also to note: videos longer than 15 minutes account for 50% of all video engagement, but only account for 8% of all video content produced! Not surprising. It’s all about the connection. You can check out the full infographic on Adweek.

Organization Hacks Video Cracks Most Shared Facebook Video Record
We love that the most shared Facebook video of all time is a highly USEFUL and practical one. “Get Clever With Your Clutter” counts 360 million views and 11.6 million shares.
It would be a super simple type of video to make. Just shoot from above while you are demonstrating a tip! Low production, but totally effective. Tubefilter

The Millennial Startup Looking To Rival LinkedIn
There is a new social network on the rise that is hoping to attract millennials away from LinkedIn called YourFeed. According to founder Jack Parsons 71% of Linkedin users are above the age of 35, while the average user age is 42, which means that the platform may not be so geared towards people just starting out in their careers. With YourFeed, Jack wanted to ensure that young job seekers are not passed over due to a lack of experience (which is what LinedIn favours) but instead he is aiming to match them with jobs based on their skill sets. Netflix Subscriber Surge Fuelled By Millennial TV Cynicism
Netflix is showing no sign of slowing down and has beat its projections in its latest earnings report. The company welcomed 5.2 million subscribers this past quarter, putting it at 104 million subscribers worldwide. As CNBC reports, “Millennials don’t buy cable anymore because there is actually all the content you need on Netflix and HBO.” We would add Amazon Prime, Hulu, and YouTube to that list as well.

The Jane Austen £10 Note Is Accidentally Ironic
Jane Austen is the first woman other than the Queen to be featured on any pound note of England, but there has been some unfortunate controversy surrounding the chosen quote printed on the bill.  The quote, “I declare after all that there is no enjoyment like reading” was spoken in irony by one of her characters who hated reading, Miss Bingley of Pride and Prejudice. Twitter has taken over to point out the mistake and lament the often misunderstood Austen quote, some users have even gone so far as to add their own quote to the note. The Guardian
We agree with Twitter user @duncanm that this would have been a much better quote option 😂
