Google: Employees Revolt At Military AI Project
Worried Google employees are demanding that the company pulls out from an AI project for the US military, stating that Google should not be in the business of war. CEO at Google Cloud, Diane Green has stated that “Project Maven” is “non-offensive" and “will not be used to launch weapons”. This hasn’t stopped employees from signing a letter aimed at Google CEO, Sundar Pichai. It’s believed that the project centres around the use of drone footage.
TOP SECRET: Footage of the drone in action.
Viral: Seagull Pepperoni Man Apologizes For Damage
People are flocking to see this hilarious apology from a man who trashed a hotel room in 2001. The incident started when he apparently left a suitcase full of pepperoni (as you do) in his room and returned to find 40 seagulls who had been “eating pepperoni for a long time…” The result of this was a “tornado of seagull excrement, feathers, pepperoni chunks and fairly large birds whipping around the room.” You’d think that would’ve landed him a huge bill(those aren’t cheep) but instead, it landed him a lifetime ban.
UPDATE: The ban has been lifted. Phew!
Since then, an entire generation of seagulls has been addicted to processed meats and has resorted to theft.
Facebook: Medical Data Plan On Pause
Facebook has paused plans to collect patient medical data and match it with user information. The idea was to see if the data could actually improve patient care. The keyword here is “paused” - they’re probably waiting for this whole thing to quiet down before resuming the plan.
