LinkedIn Now Allows Native Video Uploading
LinkedIn is finally allowing users to upload videos through its mobile app, natively. And these videos will now play automatically without sound in peoples’ feeds. In support of this new feature, LinkedIn is adding a video camera option into the status box on users’ home screens. Users will now be able to see information about their viewers, like the companies where they work and job titles, but it will not give a complete list of employee names. These new video features do not extend into ads on the platform as of yet, but we can’t see that taking much longer to roll out. MarketingLand

#MeetBotlr, The Robot Doorman At Marriot's Latest Hotel
Marriott’s Aloft chain has several locations centred around tech-fuelled design, and the new Queen’s location is no exception. A grey cylinder sits behind the desk, and when the Front Desk Agent calls it, it’s sent on delivery errands with toothbrushes, razors, and the like to rooms in the hotel. With a major focus on technology, Aloft is one of two ultra-hip chains the hotel giant has opened, with its second being Moxy, a more boutique experience focused on ‘instagramable’ touches. In an effort to combat the effect of AirBnB, big chains have been seen making extra effort to tap into the local flavour and feature more one-of-a-kind experiences. Digiday.

First look at Disney's Star Wars theme park
Revealing a 50 foot wide 3D model at D23 Expo in California, Disney is offering the world’s first look at the Star Wars lands it is building in California and Florida. The two main attractions on these mysterious ‘never before seen’ planets will be a ride that allows guests to fly the Millennium Falcon on a special mission. The other will be a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. The total immersion experiences have been in plans already for two years, and will challenge visitors to choose sides to determine their experience in the park. The Verge.

The Party Parrot That Has Taken Over Slack & Reddit
The Disciples of Sirocco were born when several Redditors became obsessed with the party parrot emoji on Slack’s workflow app. These disciples decided to name the colourful bird, and with the help of some other Sirocco fans, turn him into an internet dominating meme. And they did, that’s when Party Parrot became a sensation. Based on a BBC video of a parrot attempting to mate, the party parrot has been transformed into t-shirts, emojis, an Android game, and even a Chrome extension that turns all of your messages online into a party parrot. Learn more about the Cult of the Party Parrot on their website. Mashable.
