Finding Your Story (Storytelling part II) | Truly Social with Tara
So now that you know from last week’s video why having a story is important, do you know the secret to finding your story? Before Tara talks about types of stories or how to tell your story, she is covering the most fundamental part of storytelling of all: finding it. She knows from some of the questions last week that this is a big question mark. Watch the full Finding Your Story video here.
You'll have to watch to find out how you can identify your strongest story!

Netflix Is A Joke
One way to let your audience know that you’re diversifying your lineup would be to feature your new material in advertising, making it look fun and appealing. But not Netflix. Billboards have been spotted in several major cities reading “Netflix is a Joke”, and that’s it. They played it off like they weren’t behind the campaign in the first place, until they followed with this more official announcement on YouTube, showing the new standup acts they have added to their selection of programming.
This is honestly pretty genius.

Hot Off The Twitter Presses
Twitter is successfully selling their live video “newfronts”, which is pretty interesting and, seeing as many of us “watch” live shows through twitter play-by-plays (think Oscars, Super Bowl, etc), could actually be the first step into something much bigger. Will you “tune into Twitter” for your news? Your sporting events?
We're hoping their algorithm will be more selective about advertisers than some other platforms.

Steve Bannon Attempts Mole Plant In Facebook
It seems that social networks are so influential that people looking to influence politics are trying to plant moles inside of the organizations to “keep tabs and gain leverage”. Recently it was uncovered that Steve Bannon attempted to intervene on Facebook’s hiring process to hire someone who would provide him information from inside of the platform’s offices. Thankfully these plots have been thwarted, but have they ended for good?
That's quite a mole they caught trying to be planted in Facebook!

All You Need To Know About #TakeAKnee
This weekend saw a surge in trending conversations about #TakeAKnee. Donald Trump had some choice words to say for the NFL players who chose to take a knee during some of this weekend’s games, but many of us might have forgotten the controversy that Colin Kapernick began last year when he first took a knee during the national anthem. Get a full rundown of the situation, and its significance, on Mashable.
Snapchat Labs Cuts Back
Oh boy, just went we were getting used to the ‘spectacle POV’, it looks like it may be on the way out the door. The lab in Snap’s offices that manages the Spectacles cut 12 staff and changed leadership last week, perhaps due to the fact that we haven’t really seen or heard much of an update since they launched (in a very cool way) in November of 2016. We have not abandoned hope for them yet!
Perhaps they made the Spectacles a little TOO exclusive.
