Twitter Gets Transparent Feature
Following a mass movement by many Twitter users changing their usernames to include__ would prefer if you banned nazis/sexists/racists, Twitter is finally taking action to remove flagged content. Affected accounts have always received notifications if their content was being blocked on Twitter, but now the platform will be identifying publicly whether local laws (like prohibited symbols or phrases) were the cause of blocked content, or blocked to comply with a legal demand (like a lawsuit or copyright infringement).

Eric Schmidt Says 'Au revoir' to Alphabet
Long-term leader of Google and later its parent company Alphabet, Eric Schmidt has officially decided to take a backseat, stating that he will be remaining on only as a technical advisor in 2018. Schmidt’s long career as a software executive saw him promoted to CEO of Google in 2001, and since 2011 has been chairman of Alphabet, steering it from simply a search engine into the full suite of software and products that we know today.

Learning To Be More Human With AI
You may have heard about the YouTube phenomenon of Poppy - a girl pretending to be Artificial Intelligence, whose singing-turned-art-experiment videos have caught a lot of attention online lately. Her recent collaborations with Microsoft’s Zo bot has created an entirely new level of meta, as both internet personalities are studying what it means to be a person interacting on the internet, and hilariously miss the mark (and nail it too).

Making Lemons Into Lemonade
Though Bitcoin took a major plummet (a 30% decrease in just one day), some people are taking lemons and turning it into lemonade. The former Long Island Iced Tea Corp has added the phrase “blockchain” to its name and seen a leap in stock by 200%. They’re still going to make iced tea and other juices, but dedicate another sector of their company to exploration and investment in blockchain technologies.
