The Scary Truth of Safety Check-Ins
Following yesterday’s deadly shooting in Las Vegas, Facebook activated their safety Check-In feature, which allows those in crisis zones to alert their family and friends as to their whereabouts and general safety. However, Quartz discovered that on the official check-in page of the Las Vegas shooting, Facebook’s algorithm had in fact favoured not just outdated news, but also inaccurate news. This could point to a major flaw in Facebook security, and could have put many in danger.

Finally: Multitasking for iPhones

Bumble Goes Business
Popular dating app Bumble has launched a new feature called Bizz, geared directly towards making business connections with Bumble’s 20 million users. Following the “women make the first move” model of the host app, Bizz attempts to clear up some of the awkwardness of networking that sometimes makes women uncomfortable by letting them approach the people they are interested in making a business connection.
This makes networking way more straight-forward for women than the mixed signals from other networking platforms.
