Amazon’s purchase of Whole Foods became official this week when stakeholders approved the nearly $13.7 billion takeover. Many of us ordinary people have been wondering what this will mean for either organization, and today we finally received an answer: lower avocado prices. Amazon has promised to lower the fruit’s prices across Whole Foods once they gain control of the organization Monday. The New York Times.

"All About That" Marriage Equality
American pop star Meghan Trainor has spoken out about her image being used in an Australian anti-marriage equality advertisement. She announced via twitter that she does support marriage equality, and had not been aware the image was being used by the Vote NO group out of context. She is among many influential figures who have spoken out in support of LGBTQ rights in regards to next month’s postal survey.
