Amazon is expanding their arsenal of digital content, kicking things off with a kick-ass Lord of the Rings series. To say we’re excited to see Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee back on the screen is an understatement and the fact that it could be free? Bliss.
Our precious has returned!
Spoiler Alert: we’re about to talk about Justice League. Fans have been thoroughly unimpressed with the film in the first place, and they’re adding a few new complaints to their list of grievances: Superman’s lack of mullet and black costume change. In the original Justice League comics, Superman has a mullet (#mulletforsuperman), and also changes costumes into a black solar suit to help recharge during a key fight. Neither happened in the film adaptation - and who could forget that they CGIed out Henry Cavill’s moustache?
Warner Brothers, you've really let us down! We could have had a mullet AND a moustache.
NYT Gets Too Cozy With Nazism
The New York Times published a piece profiling an Ohio member of the far-right over the weekend. Though some felt that there was a scary truth to how ‘normal’ the man profiled was represented, other felt that normalizing Nazi sympathizers was a step in the wrong direction. The publisher was forced to make an apology to their readers, and explain their reasoning, but that didn’t prevent thousands of Twitter users from criticizing the piece for its representation of a dangerous and rising group.
Too soon? Too soon.
Move Over Ugly Christmas Sweaters
Oh yeah, the Holiday party theme of choice far and wide has come to an end. Famjams are here. Yup, they’re matching family pyjamas, and they are possibly even more embarrassing to wear than the ugly Christmas sweater ever was.
Bridget Jones, quietly judging your choice to not wear the trendy Famjams.
Pineapples For The Holidays
A new trend we have stumbled upon lately is awesome for those of us who aren’t ready to fully erect a tree in our homes. You could replace the traditional Christmas Pine with a Pineapple! That’s right, people are decorating pineapples instead of trees, and it’s genius.
Looks like it's time to update our decor with something a little more tropical!
