Cards Against Humanity: For Her
Cards Against Humanity has become known for their viral online campaigns, especially those that highlight the ridiculousness of Black Friday (remember the year they sold actual boxes of poop?), and now they are back at it again. CAH launched a brand new version of their original game dubbed “Cards Against Humanity: For Her,” which is actually just the original game in a pink box but it costs $5 more. Why? Because it is pink. All of this is to bring attention to the fact that many women’s products are more expensive than their male equivalents even though they are exactly the same product, a practice dubbed “the pink tax”. The profits from the sales of “CAH: For Her” will be donated to the charity Emily’s List which is focused on getting more women elected to public office. Facebook Is Bringing Integrated Ads To Messenger, Because Of Course That Is What We Wanted...
After seeing promising results testing out new Messenger ads in the Australian and Thailand markets, Facebook is expanding their beta test globally. Facebook is allowing marketers to buy advertising space between your chat threads in Messenger’s home tab. These ads will either lead you to a website or it can initiate a message thread with the advertising company. This new feature could open the door to more purchases being made through Messenger’s in-app payment system. On the other side do we really want to see ads alongside messages from our friends?? Ikea Is Using Snapchat Influencers To Target Millennials
Some have questioned the relevance of Snapchat for marketing means especially when it comes to influencers, but IKEA and MEC joined with comedy duo Superfruit to promote their back-to-school initiatives for dorm room products. In a quiz-style layout of video content on the app, users learn about their decor style in the “Superfruit goes back to college” ad campaign. The brand new paperclip feature on Snapchat allows viewers to swipe up and be taken directly to the landing page that corresponds with their decor style of choice. Though Snapchat is aimed at more of a one-to-one communication tool for friends, the campaign could be a game changer for advertising on the app. Adweek

Soundcloud Stumbles Again As They Close More Offices
Last week SoundCloud announced on their blog that they will be cutting 40% of their staff in order to “ensure our path to long-term, independent success,” said SoundCloud CEO. After announcing back in January that the company would probably be out of money by years end they received additional funding of $70 million dollars to stay afloat but it looks like that may have not been enough. SoundCloud has been struggling to compete with streaming service giants like Apple Music and Spotify and its free subscription service doesn’t seem to be paying off. The Verge

Stranger Things Season 2 Has A Premiere Date!
Season 2 of Stranger Things has announced their official return date, and we are so excited! The official return date for the Netflix show is October 27th (107 days to go!). Along with the premiere date a new poster has been released featuring the main boys and a giant version of the Demogorgon monster from season one, which looks more terrifying than ever. If the concept art has anything to do with the plot, we’re going to be seeing a whole lot more bad luck coming our heroes’ ways.
