Memes For Free Speech
Activists in Russia are using memes to combat their government’s laws that require any popular channel to register themselves with the government for monitoring. Politically active Russians have turned to memes to say things that cannot be said in the public sphere, as they combine a message and visual to make their point without revealing their identity.
Who would have thought this pun would be an exercise in free speech?

Add Glitter To Everything
Sparkle is having a major fashion moment. Taking it one step further is Kirakira, which allows you to add sparkles to anything you direct your camera at inside the app. The application exploded during New York and London’s fashion weeks, and we have a feeling we’ll see a lot more glittered #ootd in our newsfeeds very soon.

Siri Gets Smarter
A new bomb has dropped from Apple HQ: Apple has switched Siri’s default search engine from Bing to Google. All video searches will also now come from YouTube, making it an even more concentrated source for video content online than before. Finally, accurate results from Siri!

Snapchat Becomes Surreal
We are loving all the Snapchat updates that have been rolling out lately! The app introduced a feature today that will automatically activate whenever it detects a sky in your shot, giving you the option to add Sky Filters to the shot. It seems they are trying to roll out as much Augmented Reality content as possible to make the most from their recent investment in the technology.
We're just waiting now for the filter that melts all the clocks and objects in your shot.

Cord-Cutters Are Not Cheap Millennials
Are cord-cutters are cheap? Meh. Think again. Cord cutters are choosy! According to a study by Frank N. Magid Associates Inc., the biggest reason why people are abandoning cable tv? “I don’t watch enough TV to make it worth it,” and “I can watch the TV shows and movies I like on the internet” and “I am satisfied with online streaming option like Netflix, Hulu.” Turns out cable just isn’t measuring up.
Sorry cable, but you're just not making the cut these days.
