Microsoft plans to release Windows 11 on October 5th. It’s a free release, but you might have to upgrade your PC to run it. We’re not sure yet how stable it will be, so as usual I recommend either waiting before you install it or testing it first on a spare PC.
While Windows 11 may install on older PCs, that doesn’t mean it will be usable. Updates are crucial to protecting against computer viruses and malware, so without them you’re running a major risk.
