There have been more reports lately of viruses sneaking past the built-in antivirus software for Windows and Mac. Here’s why you need stronger antivirus than the default protections that come with your computer.

Microsoft will announce the new version of Windows on June 24th, so it’s not surprising to hear news about a planned end-of-life date for Windows 10. The deadline might seem a long way off, but we’ll start to see the impact as manufacturers and developers shift gears around these new timeframes.
When a new version of Windows is announced, it’s common to see a rapid decrease in support for old versions. Not only has Microsoft stopped offering Windows 7 drivers but other companies like NVIDIA are following suit. If you have computers running Windows 7 or Windows 8, you need to upgrade as soon as possible.
Watch for counterfeits when buying consumer electronics, especially from unverified third-party marketplaces. When in doubt, buy name-brand products direct from the manufacturer or verified reseller. If a deal sounds too good to be true it probably is, especially for hard-to-find parts like graphics cards.
