My Top Priority This Week
Much like last week, my top priority this week has been to continue to run micro-experiments on Facebook.
The purpose of these experiments is accomplish these two things:
First, my goal is to uncover what messages and headlines most resonate with my target audience without spending thousands of dollars and consuming months.
Second, to gather data to validate (or invalidate) my assumptions about what types of offer(s) and lead magnet(s) are going to convert most effectively.
Iโ€™ve written more details on how Iโ€™m doing this here.
We are definitely making progress. So far, I have gathered data to support my assumption that my target audience (Agency owners) places a high value on SOPs, and in particular would like to have access to a turn-key playbook for outbound marketing.
The next thing for me to do is to determine the specifics (title and content) of what that offer should include so that we can create a free offer (lead magnet) that is valuable enough to compel the recipients to want our full (paid) offer.
I have plenty of work to do on this yet, so if you want to follow along, be sure to subscribe.
Instagram
Iโ€™ve never been an early adopter with social media, other than Facebook. (ohโ€ฆI think I might be aging myself!!)
In particular, I have pretty much ignored Instagram, and up until recently, I had a whopping 553 followers.
Then, thanks to a customer of mine by the name of Joe Cury (interview with Joe), I have seen the light on how I can really leverage my Instagram account and Joe is helping me do it.
As of this writing, I now have around 56,000 followersโ€ฆand these are all real human beingsโ€ฆnot fake or bot accounts that would result in my getting banned.
So what am I going to do with all these followers, you ask?
Well, ideally, once I have about 150K followers, Iโ€™m going to do 2 things:
First, for certain posts, I will be boosting these posts with about $100 each and targeting people that could become my customers. The idea being that once a given person has seen enough of my posts, they might either see the CTA in the post or on my IG profile and turn into a qualified lead for me.
Second, Iโ€™m going to use my IG account to reach out to other podcast hosts to see if they would like to have me on their show. As you might guess, when the recipient of one of my messages sees that I have 150K followers with plenty of engagement on my (boosted) posts, the odds of them agreeing to have me on their show are much higher than if I had just 553 followers!
Either way, its all about social proof.
