Cave In (rock/post-hardcore/metal from the USA. FFO: Baroness, Quicksand, Mutoid Man)
Seeing Brodsky and McGrath play their hearts to shreds at
Roadburn 2018 in honour of their late bandmate Caleb Scofield, was something I’ll never forget. I spoke to them a year later
about it, and they were so nice, smart, easygoing. And now they’re back with a new, really really good and really heavy album. (And goddamn look at that cover). Great band, great dudes, great music.
Progressive and psychedelic, spacey and claustrophobic - you never really know what to get from Blut Aus Nord. On this album - an extension to 2019’s Hallucinogen albeit a bit of a twisted one - you get it all at once. Works for me.
