Hello my friend!
It’s interesting how the environment affects your behavior. I’m a true believer of designing your own life but most of the time you’re a product of your environment. No matter how disciplined and determined you are, you’ll lose the battle with your environment.
I worked for myself for almost a decade and I realized that in some places I perform better than in others. I noticed that some people make me feel happier and more content just by being around, while others suck the energy out of me with a single word.
So, in the end, I’m thinking, life design is not really pure “life” design, it’s your environment design. Life is dynamic and changes constantly. The environment, on the other hand, is somewhat static and predictable. Instead of trying to fix everything in your life, try to find an environment for you to thrive. You probably have some places where you think better, eat healthier, feel happier and get more stuff done.
If you can’t get what you want in life, try changing up your environment. Go to the mall, library, airport, train station, bar, cafe, opera house, park, bank. The list is endless.
Welcome to another edition of Life Designed where I share the knowledge and resources to help you live better.
This week, the newsletter is supported by the good people at Away, the maker of awesome travel bags and suitcases.

🌟 Away
Away is a stylish lifestyle and travel brand. Being a minimalist world traveler myself, I appreciate well designed and functional products and Away does just that. This is the bag I’ve been traveling with for the last 5 months carrying my laptop, documents and most of the electronics.
Kindle Monthly Deals is a monthly Amazon promotion program. Check my book recommendations for March. All books below $4. If you buy just one book, buy When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. I cried reading it.
David Kadavy is one of my favorite authors writing about creativity and entrepreneurship. I’ve been reading his work for some years now and every time I find something new to implement into my workflow.
I’m thrilled to share my interview with David where he explains his habits and routines such as skipping breakfast, organizing work by mental state and more.
Truffle finds business deductions in your personal spending history. The average freelancer finds $12,931 of business deductions on Truffle.
Some time ago I recommended Revolut, a mobile bank with friendly exchange rates making it a perfect travel companion. It’s sad to read what’s going on inside the company. Applicants asked to work for free, rudeness, and insane pressure.
People think that data is in the cloud, but it’s not. It’s in the ocean. The internet consists of tiny bits of code that move around the world, traveling along wires as thin as a strand of hair strung across the ocean floor. The data zips from New York to Sydney, from Hong Kong to London, in the time it takes you to read this word.
You’ve seen it, you’ve used it and you know what I’m talking about. Comic Sans. Here’s the story behind the most polarizing font ever made.
Scientists have long tried to duplicate the procedure that led to the first long-term remission 12 years ago. With the so-called London patient, they seem to have succeeded. It’s too early to say it’s a cure for all but the future seems promising for generations to come.
In his constant search for self-knowledge, Bruce Lee produced a lot of valuable messages that apply not only to martial arts, but to life itself as a whole.
If you are interested in language learning try Duoreading. It’s like reading a book in two languages at the same time.

Food for Thought
“Like everyone else, you want to learn the way to win, but never to accept the way to lose, to accept defeat, to learn to die is to be liberated from it. So when tomorrow comes, you must free your ambitious mind, and learn the art of dying.” – Bruce Lee
“Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” – Yoda
“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.” – Helen Keller
