22 days in for 2017, how is your year going? I spent the past week in Bucharest and Amsterdam working on projects for companies and the financial sector, and speaking to clients. Making sustainability tangible and workable is a challenge many of us face in the field, although it is interesting to see many CSR/sustainability specialists not even trying to make a business case. John Elkington argues in this week’s article that we need to move beyond business cases for sustainability/ESG and towards business models. For food retailers, a lot of growth is the organic market for instance, even though it is still a smaller market. Keep your eyes open and do not practice in the same way repeatedly as the example of Jerry Rice shows in the article series “Masters of Habit.”
