Hi, hello again to my weekly newsletter. Supposedly, it is a very hip thing I learned from a Dutch newspaper this week. What is also hip is that governments are getting more and involved at the intersection between sustainability and investing. For instance, Sweden will require asset managers to report on climate change. And Andy Kessler accuses the US government of green politics by allowing them to integrate sustainability in their investment decision making. Good or bad? What do you think? See you next week! ps. Forcing Green Politics on Pension Funds
This column In The Wall Street Journal by Andy Kessler made me smile. His thesis is that the US Labor Department forces pension funds to divest their fossil-fuel holdings. I think he has totally misunderstood the guidance statement. It shows me there is still a wide world of investors out there who misinterpret how environmental and social issues can impact their investments. “Hey Andy, give me a call next time you are in Europe and let’s do coffee!”
