Europe and the good ol’ US of A!

Hello everybody! We’re finally at the end of the year, it’s gone CRAZY fast, and I’m writing this from the United States of Mmerica —more specifically from the East Coast.
🇪🇺 3 weeks in Europe
Shana in Athens, and the Parthenon on top of the Acropolis
Since my last email from Dubai, we’ve traveled back to Europe, spending a week in Athens and another one in Rome — both of which could be considered the birthplaces of modern civilization and democracy. It was nothing short of crazy to walk next to buildings that were still standing after 2-3 thousand years.
And don’t get me started on the food! 🍝🍕🧀🌯🥗

And then came last week: we’ve spent some time together in Paris where Shana got to meet my family. (Keep in mind I also hadn’t seen my parents and my brother in over 6 months at that point.)
Even though we only spent a couple of days over there, it was great to show Shana some of my favorite spots in the city and at the same time get to catch up with my relatives — we also celebrated one of my cousin’s birthday and graduation, which was a lot of fun.
With the family in Paris — my dad surprised us and picked us up at the airport!
🇺🇸 Mmmmmmmmmurica!
As I mentioned previously — Shana & I are staying in Hoboken, New Jersey, facing the beautiful New York skyline. We’re here until Sunday, after which we’ll head down to the DMV area (DC/Maryland/Virginia), where she’s from.
We plan to stay with her family, as well as visit Baltimore and Washington D.C. — as a young boy dreaming of one day visiting the east coast, I couldn’t be more excited!
Times Square, 1 World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial
For our first few days in New York, we really tired ourselves trying to squeeze as much as we could and ended up going to :
  • Rockefeller Plaza
  • Times Square
  • walking around the Flatiron Building and Empire State Building
  • the Highline
  • Chelsea
  • a taping of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee
  • Central Park
  • the 9/11 Memorial
  • and even adding a few restaurants that we had wanted to check out for months!

🌃 New York State of Mind
What you may not know about me is that going to New York specifically, and the US East Coast generally, was kind of a long time dream of mine.
As such, I’ve been feeling excited and been jumping all day long, every day, pointing out stupid things from the huge yellow school buses to the huge microwaves and the iconic landmarks and fire escapes all around the city.
For Shana, it’s been fun to see this side of me, especially as this is the first place we’re travelling to that I haven’t seen before in one way or another.
Observing the skyline this morning before starting the day!
Until next time..!
Over the next couple of days, we’re going to hang out with Shana’s friends in New York, including over this Halloween weekend, which promises to be a lot of fun for all of us.
Stay tuned for more adventures very soon, folks!
