🏡 A place to call 'Home'...

Hello everybody!
I did tell you that my next email would come fast — glad I could finally deliver.

We've moved in to our apartment!
As I’m typing these lines, we have finally moved in to our apartment yesterday. It’s been coming for a while, and we’re stoked to finally have a place to call our own, to unpack, and to decorate as we desire.
We live in an area of Dublin called Smithfield. It’s been recently re-developed, and it only takes a 15-20mn walk to get to the center of the city (the vibrant area of Temple Bar, or the shopping destination that is Grafton Street, for example.)

To give you an idea, within one to two minutes of our apartment block, you can find:
  • 6 coffee houses, including 4 indie artisan coffee houses
  • The best arthouse/indie cinema theater of the city (a more mainstream theater is located a short 10 minutes walk away from here)
  • A gaming arcade
  • A virtual reality arcade
  • A cat lounge (where you can just sit around and pet cats for however long you want)
  • An organic grocery store, think “whole food” but a bit more affordable
  • The Jameson Distillery
  • A couple of good restaurants and pubs
Needless to say that we’re turning even more into hipsters and I’m ready to grow a beard!
Life in Dublin
Aside from that, life in Dublin has been good. Lately, most of our time outside of work has been dedicated to the apartment, aside from a treat last Sunday to see The Post at the local arthouse cinema under our apartment.
I told you I was going to do it.
What’s it? A quickfire round of personal things I’ve shared over the last few weeks:

...and a quick question!
I’m thinking about doing a weekly curation of the latest tech news, from my perspective, and explaining why it matters. I want it to come from a personal place, rather than from what you can read from sites like The Verge.
One email sent on a Friday or Saturday debriefing what happened, and why that’s interesting.

That's all folks
Thanks again for taking the time to read this — I really enjoy being able to express myself with y'all.
A few of you have told me you feel bad for not responding, but don’t worry, you’re not alone. And on my end, I have visibility over who reads/opens the email, which makes me happy.
Take care, and “write you” next time!
