On June 19, 2020, activist Regan Russell was tragically killed by a transport truck carrying pigs to slaughter at Fearmans Pork Inc. in Burlington, Ontario. I didn’t know her, but her death affected me. You can read more about this in the posts linked below.

Regan Russell: The Tragic Loss of a Brave Animal Activist
There Was a Killing
Activists are fearless defenders. Most do the hard work on the streets week after week, risking arrests, verbal and physical abuse from non-believers of the cause, and even their lives. As someone who’s an armchair activist because I don’t live in a large city where vigils and bearing witness events happen regularly, I admire and am grateful for the people who put themselves out there.
I’m launching The Vegan Profile to honour these brave women and men, to showcase their work, their challenges, and their victories.
The first profile will be published April 4th.
Please join me in honouring committed activists by subscribing to The Vegan Profile.
In support of the courageous,
Carole
