This week, Netlify, a leader in JAMstack hosting and deployment, moved to a utility-like pricing model based on build minutes
. While there’s a lot of free hosting for static sites (and Netlify has retained their free tier), most pricing in the space, aside from AWS Amplify
, is for bandwidth alone or a flat rate. It will be interesting to see if others fall along, but it will certainly make developers aware of their build tools and methods.
Speaking of super-fast builds, Hugo is the world’s fastest framework for building websites. Régis Philibert and I will be giving a full-day workshop on Hugo, called “Hugo: From Small Projects to Enterprise Builds, it can handle them all!”
