Deane gives us a framework for thinking about the myriad headless CMS offerings (though, unfortunately, he ignores the realm of Git-based editors), and in “The Technical Basis for Content Experience”
he argues that the headless CMS may eventually morph into something closer to what we have traditionally thought of as CMS.
